I started out playing soccer, basketball and squash in high school. Tore my ACL at a recruiting camp this before my senior year and started riding a junky hybrid bike and swimming to rehab my knee so I could play soccer in college. My rehab turned into a busy summer competing in triathlons; during my sophomore year of college at the University of Pennsylvania, a small group of students formed a cycling team and got me to join because they knew I owned a bike and they needed a woman on the team! I won my first race and qualified for collegiate nationals that year and have been hooked on bike racing ever since!
