THE COACH

I hail from the small town of Washington, CT where I developed my passion for skiing on a uniquely solo journey. I started skiing on my own at age 9, the only family member that skis. Finding time to get away from working in the family carpet business, I scrounged up equipment and searched rides to our one T-bar hill to watch friends train in the local ski club while I taught myself. Throughout junior racing and a short stint pro racing in the west, I finally found my first ski lesson. I just happened to be the instructor as I started my ski teaching and coaching career at 22 years old while finishing my degree at the University at Northern Arizona.  My life's journey did not start with a plan and I was lucky to learn that following your passion can only lead to great things. However, as most successful journeymen, I developed a plan along the way as my coaching brought me to New Zealand, Flagstaff, AZ, Vail, CO and Park City, UT where I landed on the National Team staff in the spring of 1996. I worked my way from Head Junior Team Coach to Head Europa Cup Coach to Head Coach in 2002. Coaching has provided me with a life that is impossible to place into words and I have always strived to make it that much better for the people I coach. After the 2008 World Cup season I started my own company Top Out Sports, developed the first ever "World Alpine Rockfest" and most recently founded PointZero1 with my former athletes Bryon Friedman and Erik Schlopy. Looking forward to continuing the journey and proud to have Todi Shoes on my feet as I venture forward.
