Cycling

Moved from a CAT 4 to CAT 2 female cyclist in one year and was invited back to DFT's Elite team for 2010!
Placed 15th in GC at Valley of the Sun for my first Pro1/2 race
I'm homegrown from good ol' Aurora, CO, 4th generation…seriously. My great-grandparents owned Blakesly Mortuary (now Aurora Chase) on 1095 Havana Street. I didn't aspire to be a Mortician but I am in the medical profession. I feel I have this awesome balance in life. What I do, who I am and what I love. My career as an Ultrasound Tech is challenging and very rewarding. I've been married going on 5 years and I love my husband who supports me emotionally and encourages me to pursue my dreams no matter what. I am a cyclist and I feel lucky to have so many passions and the ability to pursue them all to their fullest enjoyment.
Cycling for me is a passion that continually challenges me. A burning desire to ride farther, faster and harder. Cycling is the greatest sport on earth and one that will push you beyond limits and goals you've questioned. When I make it to the top of a hard climb or listen to the buzz of a racing peloton, I am reminded why I do this. I race my bicycle for the excitement and the deep seeded love of cycling!
I am new to the sport but feel I have seen huge accomplishments like moving from a Cat 4 to a Cat 2 in one short 2009 season. I have learned so much and know I have much more to learn. But' the biggest lesson I've learned is that I know how to race with confidence yet humility!
